Titanium Aluminum Nitride URWERK

URWERK-103.jpg

URWERK has just created a limited edition wristwatch that utilizes a new metal treatment process called Titanium Aluminum Nitride Coating. The treatment is said to be the hardest coating used in watchmaking, it is even harder than DLC (diamond like carbon). The color that results from this process can range from bronze to black and depends on the ratio of Titanium/Aluminum. This particular TiAlN treatment appears to have a chocolate brown color. This technology is very cutting-edge and I am sure other savvy watchmakers will follow suit.
