OCEANUS Cachalot Atomic Titanium Carbide Chronograph

[ via Oceanus ]

Oceanus recently introduced a new flagship version from their high-end atomic wristwatch line, the Cachalot. They sent me one to photograph and review. Here are my impressions:

Strengths:
-43 mm case with no crown is a perfect size and is very comfortable to wear
-titanium carbide treatment is much harder than untreated titanium
-auto/manual atomic radio signal time calibration
-worldtimer function displays 29 timezones in 27 cities
-200m/660ft water resistance (suitable for swimming, snorkeling, skin diving)
-the design is both elegant and sporty
-the yachting countdown timer is an unexpected treat in this segment
-overall the fit and finish is excellent

Weaknesses:
-the price (highest priced Oceanus to date $1195)
-the outer edge of the bezel is finished in a polished grey that would look better if it matched the polished silver finish on the sides of the case
-operating all the functions with 4 pushers requires reading of a manual

Conclusion:
This watch is a perfect size, the construction is solid and the sporty/elegant look works with almost any type of attire.
