Richard Mille won control of its reputation as a pioneer, eight years ago, with its two watches RM 001 and RM 002. Unanimously acclaimed by the press and the public, those achievements have pushed the limits of the watch industry, both in design and mechanical inventiveness that the materials used. However, it was only the beginnings of a revolution coming. Indeed, beyond their surprising originality, these two watches opened the way for a new approach to watchmaking that would energize and change the essence of this ancient art. Indeed, models RM 001 and RM 002 have undoubtedly demonstrated that innovative and sophisticated technology can integrate perfectly with the values of rarity, exceptional characteristics and tradition of high watchmaking.
Today, eight years after this turning point for watches, watch, RM 021, which occupies a prominent place immediately at the heart of watchmaking, made its entry in the collection. The very name of this watch is not a mere coincidence, it is the 21st century and reflects the continuity of innovative RM 001 and RM 002. This unique piece also expresses the concepts of air, space and speed supersonic behind the brand since its inception in 2001.
RM 021, another example of development and application of materials unique to watchmaking, is the first watch created from an external structure associated with titanium in the titanium aluminide orthorhombic alveolate and the carbon nanofibers . The orthorhombic titanium aluminide is an alloy that has a unique molecular structure classified in specific crystalline phase of orthorhombic Ti2AlNb. Used in a geometric motif Honeycomb shaped honeycomb, this material is used by NASA in the manufacture of wings for supersonic aircraft which the thermal and mechanical properties are paramount. In a honeycomb structure, the alloy has an unmatched rigidity, low thermal expansion and exceptional resistance to twisting. The shape of the platinum, as it appears from the face, is characterized by the V-profile wing of an airplane in flight when their ends are higher than the fuselage. The cylinder and the vorticity are both placed in the central creusure aerodynamic structure, maintained in equilibrium on bridges light and air with four arms of both sides.
The RM021 is available in titanium and red gold or 18 carat white, with an alligator strap with the buckle.

Torque Indicator
