Seiko Premier Kinetic Direct Drive Moon Phase

Early this year, Seiko unveiled a new flagship among its Premier collection of watches. The Seiko Premier Kinetic Direct Drive Moon Phase. Unlike their entry-level offerings, the Premier collection offers more luxurious features. For example, a hybrid kinetic movement (Cal. 5D88), a sapphire crystal and hand-winding capability. A moon phase function. Better case finishing, higher quality materials than the traditional Seiko line. A power-reserve of 1-month, which is very rare. All the time and calendar functions are operated by the single crown, and the same crown allows the wearer to add power to the watch and see, in real time, the power that is being generated. With the day and 24-hour indicators combined in the 6 o'clock dial, and the two power reserve functions presented in just one fan-shaped dial at 9 o'clock, the high functionality is unobtrusive but

Breguet Twin Rotating Tourbillons

This is the new Twin Rotating Tourbillons timepiece that Breguet introduced during Baselworld 2009, the world's largest watch show. The video was shot handheld, so it is a little shaky, but you can, at least, get an idea of how it looks. Each tourbillon is an independent mechanism which rotates on its own axial every 60 seconds. The two tourbillons are connected by differential gears. The differential then transmits the combined mean (average) time of the two tourbillons - allowing for even more precise timekeeping than just one tourbillon. The double tourbillons are mounted on a plate, which couples as the dial. The plate itself rotates once every 12 hours allowing for simultaneous rewinding of the twin-barrels. The hour is displayed by a hand mounted on the bridge which connects the two tourbillons which makes 1 revolution every 12

Corum Admiral's Cup Black Challenge 44

Corum introduced their newest Admiral's Cup wristwatch in Basel, this past March. The Admiral's Cup Black Challenge 44 is one of the nicer designs I have seen from Corum in recent years. The 44 mm stainless steel case with black PVD coating is smaller than the Challenge 48 models, but that is a good thing. What is lacks in width it definitely makes up for in height. The case is nice and tall. The Black Challenge comes in either a white or black dial, both look very classy.
