Jaermann & Stübi Golf Watches
Swiss watch brand Jaermann & Stübi, specializes in making watches for golfers. There unique timepieces all feature a special shock guard, allowing the timepiece to be worn during a round of golf. Plus, many of the timepieces feature unique stroke counters, built around a special complication, much like a chronograph. The co-founder Urs Jaermann is not an expert golfer, but that is what led him to develop of golf specific sports watch. As an average player, counting strokes tends to interfere with concentration on the game. This inspired an innovation.
With Urs' dislike of keeping score, combined with his love for watches, the idea of Jaermann & Stübi was born. And ten years later it became a reality.
Pascal Stübi and Jaermann met at a communication strategies lecture. With Stübi's experience creating watches and Jaermann's dream, they found that they had a similar vision of creating a golf watch made in Switzerland.
The heart of the new complication, the mechanical counter JS02, is a recently patented invention. There is one counter for strokes per hole, a second counter to keep track of total strokes per game, and a retrograde counter to display holes played. A secured pusher resets the first counter automatically and the counters can all be reset when the game is finished. The construction and its complexity can be compared with a chronograph.
One shouldn't play golf with a mechanical watch unless that watch is a Jaermann & Stübi. Our watches have a special shock absorber , the G-Shock-Guard, developed for the game of golf which protects the inner mechanisms of the watch against strokes and impact. This patent-pending innovation was developed and tested with the help of golf professionals. The watch case itself is made of high-quality steel, titanium or 18-carat gold and is waterproof up to 100 meters.
