Antiquorum launches new self-service auction site
Antiquorum, a leading auction house that specializes in selling rare and vintage timepieces, has just launched an all new self-service watch auction site called Antiquorum DirectBid. It promises to have lower rates (10% buyers fee) than their flagship brand Antiquorum. However, I think this site is more about quality than price. You can go to numerous other auction sites such as Chrono24.com, Timezone.com or eBay.com, and sell a timepiece (with lower fees). But a site like Antiquorum will more than likely provide a much more appealing atmosphere to buy and sell timepieces in. Hopefully an atmosphere free of spam and grey market pieces, which you see all too often on some of the other sites I've mentioned. This type of environment, even if it costs more (10% commission on the sale price, paid by buyer) is probably worth the extra money, because it makes buying and selling pre-owned timepieces easier. Plus, you'll probably make more on your timepiece because you marketed it right.
