"The Persistence of Memory" inspired Melting Clock

May 2, 2011

The well-known surrealist piece "The Persistence of Memory," by Salvador Dali, introduced the image of a soft melting pocket watch. According to Wikipedia: "It epitomizes Dalí's theory of "softness" and "hardness", which was central to his thinking at the time. A few companies are selling these cool "melting clocks" which are inspired by this famous painting here, here and here.
