A Fifty Fathoms, No a Skywatch
Skywatch is a new California based watch company that produces Swiss made timepieces. Their lineup consists of a variety of 38 mm and 44 mm dive watches that bear an unmistakable resemblance to the famous Blancpain Fifty Fathoms.
Skywatch timepieces are accessibly priced, while still offering premium aesthetics and Swiss made quality. Movements are Swiss quartz (Rhonda). Straps are made of a premium Italian sail cloth with a nubuck leather lining. Water-resistance is ensured to 100 meters.
The biggest caveat, is that the dial is protected by mineral glass as opposed to a premium sapphire crystal (a sapphire crystal would add approximately $100 to the price). This is clearly a cost cutting measure, but not that big of deal considering how good the prices are.
