The manufacture Parmigiani Fleurier has created a special oval timepiece with telescoping hands as an homage to a famous oval pocket watch (pictured on right) that was made by British watchmakers Vardon & Stedmann in the 19th century.

The Toric Oval’s blued titanium scissor-like hands telescope in and out as they rotate, following the edge of the dial perfectly. Powering the Toric is in-house caliber 114 with 299 components (based on PF caliber 111). The manually wound mechanical movement is hand finished and viewable through the sapphire case back. Eight day power reserve with indicator at 12 o’clock. Wide date display at 6 o’clock. Hand painted dial.

Available in a fully polished 18k white or rose gold oval shaped case with signature Parmigiani lugs. Black alligator strap. Limited to 30 pieces per metal. The price is $95,000.
