SIHH 2012: JEACHRICHARD Highlands Collection
February 6, 2012
JEANRICHARD debuted the 1990s inspired Highlands collection at SIHH last month. The collection consists of three pieces, two standard editions and one limited edition.
The Highlands collection comes in a 44.5 x 40 mm barrel shaped case with a round bezel and a bi-directional notched aluminum bezel which can display a second time zone. The movement is the JR1000, a self-winding in-house caliber. It features 27 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz) and a power reserve of 48-hours. Functions include hours, minutes, central seconds and date. Each piece comes with a fabric and leather strap. Anti-reflective sapphire crystal. Water-resistance is 100 meters.
A special limited edition Highlands timepiece was created to help support the non-profit charity organization - the Big Life Foundation. Founded by famous British wildlife photographer Nick Brandt, who is known for his portraits of wildlife (which are taken up-close without telephoto lenses), Big Life was created to help preserve the African ecosystem from poachers.
JEANRICHARD has created a 100 piece Highlands limited edition with a green bezel, black PVD case and the words "Big Life Foundation" printed on the dial. The sapphire case back has an elephant transfer inspired by the foundation's logo and one of Brandt's iconic photos.
JEANRICHARD donated $50,000 to the Big Life Foundation and 8% of the sales of the Highlands Big Life timepiece will go to support Big Life.
