At the recent 130th Anniversary Alpina celebration, we got a hands-on look at the new Alpina 130 Pilot Heritage collection. The 130 Pilot Chronograph comes in a modest 41.50 mm diameter case that is comfortable and looks great on the wrist.
The case has been finished with a mixture of polished and brushed surfaces. A box-shaped sapphire crystal and applied Arabic numerals with a printed telemeter scale give this modern timepiece — a vintage look.
The Bi-compax dial configuration further adds to the vintage vibe of the Pilot 130. A see-through caseback allows a view into the Sellita based movement which has circular graining on the bridges, blued screws, and a black signed rotor. Functions include hours, minutes, seconds, and chronograph. Hour markers are applied by hand. Hands are gold on the black dial and blued on the white dial. ‘Alpina’ logo applied at 12 o’clock.
The Alpina 130 Pilot Chronograph Comes in four variations: steel with a white dial or black dial and yellow gold plated steel with white or black dial. On black or brown crococalf strap (which is a genuine calfskin strap with a printed crocodile pattern) depending on the version. The price in stainless steel is $3,250 and in yellow gold plated steel it is $3,495.
