Aerowatch will launch a new openworked watch called the Renaissance “Fir Tree” at Baselworld 2014 next month. The dial and movement have been skeletonized in a contemporary style called Art Nouveau, more specifically referred to as sapien or “fir tree” style, which was first seen in watchmaking in La Chaux-de-Fonds in the 19th century.

The movement is a hand wound vintage Unitas 6498 that runs at a rate of 2Hz with 17 jewels. The bridges and main plate have been skeletonized and then hand chamfered. The minute train has been blackened. Functions include hours, minutes and small seconds. Black hour and minute hands with Superluminova. Black printed hour and minute track. It comes on a yellow there strap with black contrast stitching and a matching steel folding clasp (strap available in custom colors).

The Renaissance Fir Tree comes in a 45 mm diameter steel or steel PVD case, with a domed sapphire crystal and a transparent back. Water resistance is 50 meters. Retail price is approximately $3,250.
