2014 TAG Heuer Carrera Monaco Grand Prix 1887 Limited Edition

For the third year in a row at Baselworld, TAG Heuer introduced a new limited edition Carrera timepiece to celebrate the most famous and historic F1 race — the Monaco Grand Prix. The Carrera Monaco Grand Prix Chronograph 1887 is presented in a 43 mm diameter sandblasted grade 2 (pure) titanium case with black titanium carbide coating, with a black ceramic bezel. The sporty dial is black with two vertical racing stripes and a red line on the right side. The hour and minute hands are in polished black gold with luminescent markers. Last month, Christophe Claret unveiled their first ladies’ complication timepiece at Baselworld. The Margot, which was designed and manufactured in-house, features a mechanism that is supposed to predict one of the paramount questions that presumably every woman has in life: “Does he love me?” In the video, Alexandra Beurier of Christophe Claret demonstrates the unique features of the Margot timepiece.

Introducing the Victorinox Alliance Automatic

Last month at Baselworld, Victorinox introduced a new first-ever automatic version of their popular Alliance timepiece. The Alliance Automatic comes in the same 40 mm fully polished stainless steel case and fixed bezel as previous models. The dial is black with and facetted, luminous lance hour and minute hands. The hour markers are applied, with numerals at 3, 6 and 9 — and the Victorinox cross at 12. The flange has a printed minute track and luminous dots marking the hours. A military scale is embossed on the inner part of the dial. The date is displayed via an aperture at 6 o’clock. The dial is protected by a flat sapphire crystal with a triple interior anti-reflective treatment. The caseback is screwed-in with a crystal that offers a view of the 25-jewel ETA 2824 movement. The URWERK UR-105M “Iron Knight” And “Black Knight”

URWERK has just announced the UR-105M, a watch that uses four forged-aluminum satellites that slowly orbit the dial to indicate the time. It is available in two versions: the “Iron Knight” and the “Black Knight.” The first has a titanium case and steel bezel, and the second has a titanium case with black AITin-treated (aluminium titanium nitride) steel bezel. A darkened oversized crown at 12 o’clock controls the winding and time setting.

A look at the Montblanc Meisterstück collection

Earlier this month, to celebrate 90 years of the Meisterstück pen — which first appeared in Hamburg, Germany in 1924 — Montblanc put together a special exhibition in New York City. The exhibit consisted of seven special edition Meisterstück 90th Anniversary pens, as well as watches, leather goods and accessories from the current Meisterstück collection.

Chopard L.U.C. 8HF Power Control Black Ceramic

Chopard first unveiled their 8Hz ultra-high beat wristwatch, powered by in-house L.U.C caliber 01.06-L — at Baselworld 2012. This year they revealed a new version with the same case dimensions, but in matte black ceramic instead of titanium, and powered by all an new movement (caliber 01.09-L), which is based on the original but with a new power reserve function added.

Hands-On with the Breguet Classique Tourbillon Extra-Thin Automatic 5377 in Platinum

In 2013, Breguet introduced the 5377 Classique Tourbillon Extra-Thin, the world’s thinnest tourbillon. It was initially only shown to the press in rose gold, even though at the time it was revealed that it would eventually be available in both rose gold and platinum. And so, while this is not a new release per se — this is the first time the platinum model has been exhibited.
