One of the most interesting of the 43 timepieces that have been donated for Only Watch 2015 which will go to support medical research for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, is an aluminum watch from Leroy. And by aluminum I mean the case, dial and movement are crafted from aluminum.

The “Chronomètre Observatoire – Pièce unique Only Watch” is inspired by an aluminum travel clock with grande sonnerie dating from 1894 that is in the brand’s museum.

The Leroy manufacture caliber L200AL is manually wound with 42-jewels and twin mainspring power barrels good for 98-hours. A circular 3-way balance bridge provides robust support to the screwed balance and direct impulse escapement system for increased accuracy. The main plate and bridges are frosted with beveled polished edges and blued screws with polished heads. (Ref. 288/1)
