This year at SIHH, for the first time, Montblanc will debut a tourbillon equipped Timewalker model. Driven by Montblanc in-house caliber MB R230, the Exotourbillon Minute Chronograph Limited Edition has a patented one-minute tourbillon, along with a monopusher column-wheel and vertical clutch actuated chronograph, as well as a date by hand function.

The automatic double barrel movement beats at 3Hz (21,600 vph), with 44 jewels, and a 50-hour power reserve. The mainplate and bridges are rhodium plated – with circular graining on the mainplate and Geneva stripes on the bridges.

The top of the dial features a black grain and striped pattern, Arabic numerals, and lance-shaped hour and minute hands with luminous material, with a prominent off-center hour, minute and date display. Just below, the dial has a black vertical satin-finished surface, with a 60-second chronograph counter on the left and 30-minute chronograph counter on the right.

Notably, the counters are semi-circle shaped and feature double indication hands (which allow one side to indicate half of the elapsed minutes or seconds, and the other to indicate the other half, simultaneously).

A 60-second tourbillon is located in the lower portion of the dial, supported by an oversized stainless steel bridge.

For convenience, there is a travel function that allows for the rapid reset of the hour hand and date display, either forward or backward. Additionally, the tourbillon can be stopped directly by halting the balance wheel.

The sporty case (44 mm by 16.27 mm) is made of titanium and carbon fiber, with hollowed case flanks, for ultimate lightness (no weight was given by the manufacturer though).

Providing contrast and scratch protection, the bezel has been coated with a hard black DLC treatment. A screwed titanium back with a sapphire window offers a view into the movement, including its black darkened rhodium automatic winding rotor.

The crown is titanium with an inlaid black-and-white Montblanc emblem. Water-resistance is 30 meters.

Connected by Montblanc star-emblem engraved screws, is a black alligator strap with red stitching and a satin-finished titanium pin buckle. The Montblanc Timewalker Exotourbillon Minute Chronograph is certified by the Montblanc Laboratory Test 500. Available in a 100 piece limited edition. (Ref. 112587)
