Audemars Piguet

On October 17th Audemars Piguet unveiled the Royal Oak Offshore Michael Schumacher in Berlin, and last night, they held a small party at their flagship boutique on 57th Street in New York to celebrate the new collection.

The Royal Oak Offshore Michael Schumacher comes in a 44 mm diameter case; in either titanium, 18K pink gold (pictured above) or platinum (pictured below) — all come with extra-hard, highly scratch resistant Cermet bezels (secured by titanium attachment studs and 8 polished stainless steel bezel screws). All three variations have micro-blasted titanium pushpiece guards, with pushpieces composed of a polished black ceramic base. Each is topped by a micro-blasted cap and crown in metal matching their respective cases (except for the platinum model which has a white gold cap and crown).

UPDATE: At the Antiquorum auction earlier today in Hong Kong, this AP Royal Oak, which we highlighted as a good deal at the estimated price $4,000 to $6,500 — as expected — sold for quite a bit over the high estimate. Approximately $9,750 which is still a good deal, but $3,250 more than the high pre-sale estimate.

At the Antiquorum Hong Kong Auction - October 19, 2012 - there will be a 39 mm automatic steel Audemars Piguet Royal Oak in very good condition for sale. It is not an A or B Series Royal Oak Jumbo from the 1970s, or the new 40th Anniversary Royal Oak model, which was revealed a SIHH 2012 — but it is very similar and has the same case diameter. This circa 2007 Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Ref. 15300ST.OO.1220ST.03 comes in a 39 mm diameter by 10 mm thick stainless steel case. The surfaces are both polished and brushed. Eight white gold hexagonal nuts secure the signature octagonal bezel. The sapphire back is held in place with a steel caseback and 8 white gold screws. The bracelet is integrated and secured through the pierced lugs, by 4 screws. Concealed double deployant clasp. Hexagonal screw-down crown.

Audemars Piguet Extra-Thin Openworked 40th Anniversary Royal Oak

At the Salon International de la Haute Horology (SIHH) last week, Audemars Piguet introduced a number of new Royal Oak models in celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the famous timepiece the Gerald Genta created in 1972. This model is the Royal Oak Self-Winding 41 mm and is available in stainless steel with steel bracelet (shown below), rose gold with rose gold bracelet (shown above) and rose gold with strap.
