Edifice recently introduced a new version of their flagship multi-band atomic timepiece. The Edifice Atomic Worldtimer features Casio's best quartz movement technology, packaged in a premium black IP steel case. Above all, this is one of the most precise, easy to set and maintenance free timepieces on the market.
The key features that distinguish this timepiece from a typical quartz: solar light powered movement and multi-band atomic timekeeping with automatic home time switching. "In addition to switching between World Time zones with the crown, the watch can also automatically switch between standard time and daylight saving time, eliminating the trouble of manual resetting."

At Baselworld, Edifice introduced a new flagship timepiece. Featuring Casio's solar-powered Tough Movement for automatic hand position correction and automatic time calibration using standard radio waves from six (atomic) transmitters around the world - the new EQW-A1110 (steel - pictured above) and EQW-1110BD-1 (black IP) models, like previous atomic models, are among the most accurate wristwatches in the world.

The Edifice EQW-A1000DC-1A is the flagship of the Edifice Black Label collection. It features a dual-layer chronograph that utilizes Casio's Smart Access technology, which allows for more sensitive operation of multiple functions by combining independent hand movement, made possible by the new 5-motor layout, with electronic crown-controlled switching.

Launched in the United States in 2010, the Edifice Black Label collection consists of black PVD steel watches, with Japanese quartz movements, and high-tech functions, priced from $150 to $500. I reviewed the Edifice Black Label 3D Chronograph, the top of the line timepiece from Edifice, here, and made a short video showing the mesmerizing 1/1000th of a second chronograph in action here. The Edifice Black Label digital/analog chronograph (shown above), is the entry level timepiece in the collection, and although it does not include 1/1000th of a second accuracy (1/100th of second is still quite good), 6-Band atomic timekeeping or a tough solar powered quartz movement, it still has numerous useful functions.

Casio has been selling Edifice watches abroad for a while now, but it wasn't until this year that they began selling the Edifice line in the US. The new Edifice Black label collection consists of watches starting at $150 all the way up to $500. The 3D Chronograph has a stainless steel case with black PVD coating, which is both good looking and scratch resistant. It features a dial with a multiple layers, giving it a cool 3 dimensional look. As is typical on Casio/Edifice watches, it features an array of displays and functions, including a chronograph that can read 1/1000th of a second, an alarm function, a date function and a worldtime function.
