Edifice recently introduced a new version of their flagship multi-band atomic timepiece. The Edifice Atomic Worldtimer features Casio's best quartz movement technology, packaged in a premium black IP steel case. Above all, this is one of the most precise, easy to set and maintenance free timepieces on the market.

The key features that distinguish this timepiece from a typical quartz: solar light powered movement and multi-band atomic timekeeping with automatic home time switching. "In addition to switching between World Time zones with the crown, the watch can also automatically switch between standard time and daylight saving time, eliminating the trouble of manual resetting."

One of my favorite new timepieces at Baselworld 2012, was the Breguet Tradition 7047BR. The Tradition collection, originally introduced in 2005, is very unique in that the movement mechanics are on the dial side of the mainplate. This configuration allows the wearer, or any lucky onlookers, to admirer the timepiece's finely hand decorated components, in action, without having to take the watch off.

The Tradition 7047BR comes in a 41 mm 18k rose gold case, fully polished with Breguet's signature finely fluted caseband. A tall domed sapphire crystal help ensure an excellent view of the mechanics up front.

The Navitimer is Breitling's most recognizable timepiece, a highly collectible model that was originally introduced in the early 1950s. The piece shown above is a Navitimer Ref. 806 (circa 1967), which is powered by a manual wind Venus 178 column wheel chronograph equipped mechanical movement. The case is 40 mm in diameter and is 18k yellow gold filled. It comes with a domed plexiglass crystal, a stainless steel caseback and Breitling's famous notched rotating slide-rule bezel.

Eco friendly California based Swiss made watch brand Xetum recently introduced stainless steel bracelets as option for their entire collection. The bracelet was originally launched in September of 2011. This is the first up-close look at the new steel bracelet.

Ever since the year 2000, Harry Winston has introduced a new Opus timepiece each year. This year was the Opus 12. Opus timepieces are highly complicated and six-figure expensive; and although they are designed to be worn, most will be destined for a rich collector's safe. The new Harry Winston Ocean Sport Chronograph, although often overshadowed by the show-stopping Opus collection, on the other hand, is a timepiece that although expensive, is far more likely to worn - the way it should be.
