The SpidoSpeed features Linde Werdelin's signature semi-skeletonized multi-layered case design. The 44 mm x 46 mm x 15 mm case is steel with the center part of the case, the crown, chronograph pushers and several other parts have been DLC treated. The subdials, stitching on the strap and rotor feature orange accents. Other than this, the Spidospeed is essentially the same as the original version seen here.

Linde Werdelin announces Spidolite II model. "With a strong reference to its predecessors, the SpidoLite and SpidoSpeed, the SpidoLite II is a living testament of true evolution in complex watch case design and craftsmanship."

At Baselworld 2011, Linde Werdelin introduced their first chronograph wristwatch, the SpidoSpeed. Available in three different variants: steel, black DLC, black DLC and rose gold; the SpidoSpeed uses Linde Werdelin's signature semi-skeletonized multi-layered case design. The case body is not only drilled out for aesthetics, it also helps to reduce weight. Visible through the clear caseback is a custom-made integrated chronograph movement with a skeletonized rotor.

I recently had tested a Linde Werdelin 3-Timer GMT. Two hour hands and a 24-hour bezel allow three timezones to be displayed simultaneously, hence the name "3-Timer." This particular version comes with a steel case, green dial (although it looks almost black in most light), and a black textured leather strap.

Linde Werdelin launches their first women's watch

Linde-Werdelin-white-3-timer-fr.jpg

Linde Werdelin is proud to announce the launch of its first women's watch to be added to its existing array of watches. The White Watch, based on the popular 3-Timer model has been given a softer and more elegant touch while a new strap has been fitted to accommodate smaller feminine wrists.

The 3-Timer's refined design constitutes the perfect model on which to base LW's first women's watch. Starting from the delicate pattern of the dial to the slender, sleek hands and discreet indexes, bearing the minimum luminous material possible and combined with the white colour details, The White Watch is designed to easily complement a lady's wardrobe. "Women today tend to prefer and wear bigger sized watches and I am very pleased that our designs although male marketed are appealing to women as well. Maintaining the brand's DNA is very important for LW and The White Watch is no exception" says Morten Linde.

While the strap mechanism remains the same, the white calfskin chosen for the new model has a reduced width which allows the watch to sit well on slender wrists. With white as the dominating colour the dial and calfskin strap match the details in colour on the screws and 24-hour bezel markings.

On the decision to add a women's watch to the Linde Werdelin collection, Jorn Werdelin commented "It is not our intention to produce a women's line, but because of the strong market request and Morten thinking that it could be an interesting design exercise, we are launching today The White Watch."

Like all Linde Werdelin watches, The White Watch can carry both The Rock - extreme ski instrument - and The Reef - dive instrument - maximising the user's sporting moments.

The White Watch is limited to just 51 pieces.

Linde Werdelin 3-Timer Racing Series for Singapore

3-Timer Racing Series yellow_1.jpg

Linde Werdelin, together with partner E'collezione in Singapore will offer a special edition 3-Timer.  Based on the Linde Werdelin 3-Timer GMT timepiece, the new 3-Timers were created to coincide with the Grand Prix in Signapore. Two variations are available, yellow or red, with 9 pieces available in each color. Like previous 3-Timers, this cersion features an intricate galvanic satinised dial with a great looking pattern. But what really sets it apart from other models, is the cool red or yellow accents on the bezel, case and strap.

The Linde Werdelin 3-Timer GMT has two hour hands and a 24-hour bezel, all of which can display a timezone, for a total of three time zones. There is also a date function at 4 o'clock.

The stainless steel case is 46 mm x 49 mm. Inside is an ETA 2893 A2 mechanical automatic movement with a 42 hour power reserve. The caseback is solid steel, with the word "Racing" engraved.  The crystal is 2.2mm thick and features anti-reflective treatment. The hands and markers feature Superluminova for nighttime viewing.  The strap is black perforated calfskin with red or yellow details & stitching and a steel ardillon buckle.

Like all Linde Werdelin watches, the 3-Timer Racing can carry both The Rock - extreme ski instrument - and The Reef - dive instrument - maximizing the user's sporting moments.

When I saw the original 3-Timer, I really liked the pattern on the dial, and the overall style of the watch. For this model, though, they have taken the good elements of 3-Timer and given it a totally new look.  It is definitely more bold, but without being overly flashy.  The stainless steel case looks great with the (black and bright yellow) or (black and bright red) contrasting color schemes.

Q&A: Interview with Linde Werdelin founders

LW Founders photo .jpg

Recently I had a chance to interview the founders of Linde Werdelin. Morten Linde (Creative Director) is standing and Jorn Werdelin (Managing Director) is seated.

1- At what age did you become a fan of watches?

JW- At the age of 6! My family owned a chain of jewellery shops so I had the luxury of being introduced to the fascinating world of watches at a young age.

ML- For me it wasn't until I was 10. It was the first time I remember myself being interested in how something worked as well as how it was put together or rather the designed. I must admit my curiosity as a child led to a couple or so broken watches. Thankfully none of them too expensive!

2- What specific timepiece are you currently wearing?

JW- Our Oktopus Moonphase model launched at BaselWorld earlier this year.

ML- SpidoLite SA titanium version
