At Watches and Wonders 2024 in Geneva, Montblanc debuted an extreme professional divers’ watch in titanium.

As far as depth ratings go, Montblanc Iced Sea 0 Oxygen Deep 4810 is up there, or “down there” with high-performance diving watches from Rolex, Omega, and Blancpain. However, asking nearly ten grand for a divers watch that’s not one of those venerable makes, is a lot.

At 4,810 meters, the Iced Sea 0 Oxygen Deep equals 15,781 feet, which bests Rolex’s Deepsea (3,900 meters equals 12,795 feet). Interestingly, the depth matches the height of Montblanc’s highest peak within a few feet. While the Montblanc titanium case divers’ watch undercuts the Deepsea’s price of $14,460 in stainless steel — Montblanc is not renowned for making divers.

The Iced Sea 0 Oxygen Deep comes in a 43 mm lightweight titanium case that Montblanc says is “totally devoid of oxygen with a shield protecting the screw-down crown, this diving watch comes with a caseback adorned with a 3D engraving of the view divers see when diving underneath the ice.”

An in-house caliber MB 29.29 automatic movement which has an impressive 120-hour power reserve that’s been COSC-certified to chronometer levels -4/+6 seconds per day drives hours, minutes, central seconds, and that date display.

A glacier pattern on the dial is inspired by the Mer de Glace — Sea of Ice — the main glacier of the Mont-Blanc Massif. Its texture was achieved using an almost-forgotten ancestral technique called gratté-boisé.

The Montblanc Iced Sea 0 Oxygen Deep 4810 (Ref. MB133268) conforms to ISO 6425 scuba diving standards and retails for $9,100 as shown on a rubber strap.
