In 1972, the first product introduced under the Porsche Design brand was the black Chronograph I P'6540. The second product from Porsche Design followed in 1978: the P'8478. To celebrate the brand's 40th anniversary, Porsche Design has created a limited edition set called the "40Y of Iconic Products" which includes a watch and aviator glasses, like the originals.

The watch in the set is a Porsche Design P'6540 Heritage Chronograph. It is presented in a matte silver grey case made out of titanium, measuring 40.5 mm in diameter. Dial is black with white hour markers. It has three chronograph sub-dials, a tachymeter, and "40Y" on it and features red chronograph hands. Anti-reflective coated sapphire crystal. Baselworld 2010 Preview Porsche Design Heritage P'6530

porsche-design-titan-baselworld-2010-1.jpg

Thirty years ago, Porsche Design created a small revolution in the watch world by launching the first chronograph in titanium. It has now reproduced this legendary model. Faithful to the original, the new Heritage P'6530, constructed entirely in shot-blasted titanium, has the same positive characteristics as its illustrious predecessor: pure, clear lines and integrated pushpieces. Only the diameter of the case has changed: to reflect modern trends, it has been increased to a generous 44 mm. Nevertheless, it remains just as comfortable to wear thanks to the extreme lightness of the titanium, which is very easy on the skin and offers strong resistance to corrosion. Limited edition of 911 pieces.

At Baselworld 2009, Porsche Design introduced some new versions of their popular Flat Six P'6340 Automatic Chronograph. For the most part, the watches are the same as when they were originally introduced in 2007. They still feature a 44.5 mm x 15 mm stainless steel case that is water-resistant to 120 meters. Inside is the same modified 7750 movement, with a signature Porsche alloy wheel shaped rotor and visibility through the sapphire caseback. The chronograph pushers are flush mounted with the case at 2 and 4 o'clock, like on the original. And the sporty dial layout that you expect from a watch that pays homage to the venerable Porsche 911, is unchanged.

Porsche-Desgin-gold-collection.jpg

Three chronographs from the Dashboard series and the Worldtimer P'6750 have been selected for Christmas. For the first time, two models from the Porsche Design Dashboard series feature a rose gold case with a rubber and titanium layered bezel. The elegant and classic rose gold contrasts with the sporty and modern design of the timepieces. The rose gold numbers and indices are featured in all three variants of dial and are partly displayed with superluminova. This also applies to the hands, which for the first time are pointed to make it possible to tell the time more precisely. The rose gold and sapphire glass black reveals the Porsche Design rotor system and the ETA 2894-2 automatic mechanism. The
Worldtimer P'6750 with its unique world time mechanism is also available in gold. The simple change between time zone settings makes the Worldtimer the ideal gift for people who frequently travel between time zones.
