These are three Rebellion timepieces that I photographed during Baselworld, back in March. Rebellion is a small, modern, racing inspired watch brand. Their timepieces are large and have bold, sporty styling. Each collection is limited edition, with an edition number engraved on the case flank. Rebellion timepieces generally cost $20,000 and up.

The PR Director for Rebellion just sent me this photo of a special limited edition watch they have created for their drivers to wear during races.

Race proven "Predator Chronograph 24 Hours". A limited edition of 24 pieces worn by the Rebellion Racing drivers during the Le Mans 24 Hours will be sold after the race. The Rebellion REB-7 Regulator Blue timepiece was introduced at Baselworld 2010. The Rebellion watch brand was launched in 2008, a great year for the watch industry, followed by one of the worst years in the history of the watch industry, 2009. For 2010, Rebellion continues to offer unique and appealing complicated watches, with a refreshingly sporty modern look.

In its two years of existence, Rebellion has built a solid reputation with exceptional timepieces - chronographs, regulators and tourbillions - inspired by the world of automobile racing. Conceived in collaboration with the designer Eric Giroud, the Predator also borrows many of its features from racing cars: the brake discs and the pedals, the five-layer dial with its honeycomb base, and the push rod shaped bridges connecting the chronograph counters to the dial. Not to mention the formidable technical mastery of the double sectorial seconds hand at 9 o'clock: the shorter hand indicates 0 to 30 seconds, with the longer one taking over for 30 to 60 seconds. The case is constructed in a sandwich of superimposed layers available in various materials, so there are many ways to personalise the timepiece.
