Introducing the TAG Heuer Mikrotourbillon S, a wristwatch equipped with two tourbillon escapements, one for the chronograph and the other for timekeeping. The functions runs autonomously of one another. One tourbillon runs at 4 Hz and controls the timekeeping. The other tourbillon runs at 50 Hz and controls the chronograph, which can measure events to 1/100th of a second. The latter completes an entire revolution in a mere five seconds, making it twelve times faster than a standard tourbillon, which takes one-minute to complete an entire revolution.
"According to Semon, every component for the Mikrotourbillon S mechanism, with the exception of its two hairsprings, is made in-house at TAG Heuer's La Chaux-de-Fonds factory."
Unlike many cutting edge timepieces, the Mikrotourbillon S is not a concept, it will be for sale very soon. The TAG Heuer Mikrotourbillon S will first be shown to public at the upcoming Timecrafters show (September 14-15). This is one of those watches you have to see to believe, it looks amazing in action. If you are in New York from during show dates, register for free tickets here, and come see it live.

Introduced at Baselworld, the vintage inspired Heuer Carrera pays homage to the brand's founder Jack Heuer. At 80 years old, Jack Heuer no longer works at TAG Heuer, but he did actually help design this watch, as he did with the original Heuer Carreras half a decade ago. At 41 mm, the new Carrera is approximately 5 mm wider in diameter and a bit thicker. But for the most part, the design is true to the original.

This is the new TAG Heuer Mikrogirder 10000, one of the most technically innovative mechanical chronographs ever made. Not to mention the most precise.
Sans the traditional balance spring and balance wheel assembly, TAG Heuer watchmakers have engineered a movement that runs at an insane 7.2 million vph, or 1,000 Hz. The result, is a timepiece that is accurate to 5/10,000th of a second.
Once activated, the chronograph hand is so fast, you can barely even see it with the naked eye. It is absolutely amazing to watch. Furthermore, if you listen closely, you can hear it hum ever so smoothly, as it sweeps the dial 20 times per second.
