Beginning a few years ago, Swiss watch brand, Technomarine, initiated a much needed brand revitalization strategy. The results, are just now starting to materialize, in the form of more appealing watch designs. The new men's UF6 Magnum collection exemplifies this best. First to be unveiled was the UF6 Magnum Small Seconds, which was previewed ahead of Baselworld 2011. Then, at Basel Technomarine introduced the entire UF6 Magnum collection, including the chronographs (shown above) and the GMT (shown below). Overall, the new designs are very appealing and I look forward to what new models the company produces going forward.

Baselworld 2011 Technomarine UF6 Magnum Small Second

Technomarine_Magnum_2279.jpg

Swiss watchmaker Technomarine has been redesigning their entire collection over the past few years, and the UF6 Magnum Small Second, is maybe their best looking new timepiece yet. It features a Swiss made Rhonda 7004B quartz and displays hours, minutes and small seconds. The 316L stainless steel case is 45 mm in diameter and features a black PVD treatment. It features black resin inserts on the sides and bezel. The sapphire crystal has an anti-reflective coating to reduce glare. Water-resistance is 200 meters (660ft). The strap is black silicone with a stainless steel buckle.

Technomarine Press Release

The seas, which Technomarine has made its very own, are the source of inspiration for its latest timepiece, the Small Second, the most elegant and sophisticated model in its UF6 Magnum collection. The engine-turning on the dial is reminiscent of boat rope, undulating waves grace the caseband, the luminescent blue and white hourmarkers represent lighthouses, and the hour and minute hands are shaped like a ship's hull. A remarkable tribute to the sea, an inexhaustible source of ideas.

Technomarine Cruise Sport Baselworld Teaser

Technomarine-Crusie-Sport.jpg

Technomarine just sent me these shots of their soon to be released Cruise Sport. It will be officially unveiled next month in Basel, at Baselworld 2010, which begins march 17th. The revamped design looks attractive, although I am a bit surprised on the decision to go with a mineral crystal over a sapphire. (One more photo and a Press Release PDF are on the "NEXT PAGE".)
