TX watches introduced the TX 310 Classic Retrograde Perpetual Calendar during Baselworld 2010. This all new timepiece features a round 44.5 mm stainless steel "classic" style case and a domed crystal. (Note: the K1 hardened mineral crystal has a high potential to scratched, as opposed to a sapphire which is virtually scratch proof. One of the sample pieces at the show already had a scratch on the crystal.) Even so, this is a really nice timepiece, especially considering its price. The case and dial are more classic than most of the watches in the TX collection, and I think this is a good thing. It offers something different. The look is very simple, and the dial is easy to read.

Feature: TX 650 GT Flyback Chronograph

TX-baselworld-650-gt.jpg

Earlier this month, in Basel, I had a chance to sit down with some of the executives at the TX Watch company. As usual, they were very excited to show off their new products. They actually had quite a few new timepieces to introduce in Basel this year. For now, though, I will focus on their new top end model, the TX 650 GT Flyback Chronograph. The new 650 GT is powered by a 600 Series four-hour fly-back chronograph movement with one-fifth of a second accuracy.

TX Watches Baselworld Sneak Peek

TX Linear Classic_810-Baselworld-2010.jpg

These are preview images of some of the new watches TX will introduce at Baselworld 2010. Many of the timepieces look even more refined than last year's offerings. In fact, this year for the first time, TX will be introducing a premium clasp on some of their models with straps. Even with what appears to be a further step up in quality and features, prices are still very reasonable ($750 or less). The quality-value ratio is extremely high. Best of all, though, TX watches have a distinctive look that is refreshingly appealing.

The TX World Time Sport is great for keeping time in a second time zone. At the push of a button, you can select one of 24 cities from around the world. After selecting a city, the upper left (second time zone) hand moves to the correct time. In the lower right of the dial is the daylight savings time indicator. This hand is adjusted via the pusher on the left side of the case. You can toggle between "summer" and "winter" time on the lower display and the upper display adjusts accordingly.

TX watches, launched in 2006, is a high-end watch company owned by the Timex Group. During Baselworld 2009 I had a chance to meet with part of the TX team - Anita Lefebvre (Sales Director), Giorgio Galli (Designer) and Scott Wolfe (President).
