Overview of Swiss watch shows
Baselworld and SIHH are the two most important watch shows in the world. Baselworld is the largest, held in Basel, Switzerland every year (usually in March or April). SIHH is the second largest, held in Geneva, Switzerland every year (usually held in January).
The SIHH show in Geneva, features high-end brands, whereas Basel features a mixture of all levels of watch brands, from entry-level to top of line.
To give you an idea of the some differences between the two shows, Basel features hundreds of watch and jewelry exhibitors, SIHH features only 19 watch exhbitors (predominatly Richemont brands). Basel is open to the public, and has seen event attendance reach over 100,000. SIHH is strictly for professionals, by invite only and usually generates less than 20,000 visitors. Baselworld has 160,000 square meters of exhbition space (or about 525,000 square feet). SIHH has much less 24,000 square meters (or about 79,000 square feet).
