On the most recent episode of “Cajun Pawn Stars” a customer brought in a 1790s pocket watch with the engraving “G. Washington” on the caseback claiming it once belonged to the first president of the United States. To validate that authenticity and provenance, an expert was brought in.

The expert verified it as authentic and confirmed that it was tied to George Washington. The owner of the pawn shop naturally offered to buy it from the customer, but after considering the $50,000 offer, the customer smartly decided to take his chances selling it at auction where it could potentially command $100,000 – or even higher.
