Audemars Piguet introduced a very interesting triple complication watch at SIHH 2013, the Tradition Minute Repeater Tourbillon Chronograph, which combines a Minute Repeater, Tourbillon, and Chronograph.
It’s presented in a polished titanium cushion-shaped case, measuring 47 mm by 12.30 mm, with an 18K brushed white gold bezel. Inside is caliber 2874, a hand-wound manufacture movement that runs at 21,600 vph (3Hz), with 38 jewels, 504 components, and a power reserve of 48-hours.
The dial is silvered opaline with a vertical brushed finish and contrasting pink gold applied Arabic numerals and hands. Functions include minute repeater, tourbillon, chronograph (30-minute counter), hours, minutes, and small seconds.
A glare-proofed sapphire crystal protects the front and back. The clear back allows a view into the mechanics such as the column-wheel mechanism, the two gongs of the minute repeater, and the beautiful hand-finished bridges and main plate. The cut-out parts have also been manually finished (polished bevels, grained finishing on top of Matte “brouillé” finishing underneath).
In addition to the bezel, the crown, push-pieces, and case back are also in 18K white gold. The strap is in hand-sewn black “large square scales” crocodile leather with an 18K white gold AP folding clasp. This timepiece is not water-resistant. (Ref. 26564IC.OO.D002CR.01)
