At Baselworld next month German watchmaker Glashütte Original will launch the PanoMaticInverse, based on the manually wound PanoInverse XL that was released in 2008, but with an automatic movement and a Panoramic date instead of a retrograde power reserve indicator.

The PanoMaticInverse is powered by the newly developed caliber 91-02 (similar to the manually wound caliber 66 that powers the PanoInverse XL). The automatic manufacture caliber features high-end finishing such as a rhodium plated three-quarter plate with Glashütte ribbing (stripes), blued screws, two-tone engravings on the wheel bridge and a 21K gold skeletonized oscillating weight. Power reserve is 42-hours and adjustments are made using the duplex swan neck fine adjustment and screwed balance (which are visible on the dial side of the watch).

The PanoMaticInverse is presented in one of two 42 mm case options: either a satin brushed and polished stainless steel case or satin brushed and polished red gold case (6N). The dial features Glashütte ribbing, and a unique cut-out between 3 and 6 o’clock which shows of the beautiful hand engraved dual swan neck bridge (full balance bridge).

The asymmetrical dial features an off-center hour and minute display, with a small seconds dial at 6 o’clock. The hands are blued (with Superluminova for the hour and minute hands). On the steel model (the hour markers are blued), on the gold model (the hour markers are gold). The dial is adorned with blued screws and jewels, just like on the movement side. The signature Panorama date sits at 2 o’clock.

The red gold version comes on a alligator strap and the steel version comes on a blue alligator strap. Both have a Nubuck lining and a fold over clasp in the same metal as the case.
