In June, Fabien Cousteau began Mission 31, which is a 31-day underwater mission that aims to set a new human submersion record. DOXA, who was chosen to provide the official timepieces for Cousteau’s dive, will also set a record for the longest continuously submerged dive watch.

This mission takes place at Aquarius, the only undersea marine habitat and lab in the world, located in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. Cousteau’s mission began on June 1, 2014, and concluded on July 2nd.

DOXA commemorated the mission by producing a special edition of 331 pieces of the orange face DOXA SUB dive watch, 31 of which will spend 31 days with Fabien Cousteau’s mission team. The rest will be available to collectors directly from DOXA.

According to DOXA, “Fabien Cousteau and his team will break his grandfather’s Conshelf Two underwater saturation mission record by one full day to honor the 50th anniversary of Jacques-Yves Cousteau’s original mission.”

The DOXA Mission 31 SUB limited edition comes in a 44 mm diameter titanium case, along with a titanium bracelet with an automatic ratcheting dive extension. The dive watch is powered by an ETA 2824-2 and is water resistant to 1000 meters.
