Apple Watch Series 9 could receive a newly improved A15 chip, which would provide both a more powerful experience and more battery life.

Last year Apple focused heavily on the all-new Apple Watch Ultra, while launching an iterative Apple Watch Series 8 update, so it would make sense to see more effort put into the Apple Watch Series 9.

While this is purely speculation, Macrumors, Macworld, Engadget, and 9to5Mac all seem to agree that the Apple Watch Series 9 will receive a more substantial update in 2023 than in recent years. Though none of these sources appear to be suggesting a major form factor change as of right now.

Perhaps we’ll finally see a revised case — which was been rumored in 2021 and 2022 — with the boxier edges as seen on the current iPhone 12, 13, and 14.
