Guenter Blumlein was the man behind Les Manufactures Horlogeres, which owned the three highly admired and very successful brands — Jaeger-LeCoultre, A. Lange & Sohne, and IWC — up until 2000 when the Richemont Group bought them. Blumlein was instrumental in the success of LMH, and is considered a legend in the industry. Looking back and hearing all the stories and positive remarks about him, makes me wish I would have had a chance to meet him. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2001, at the early age of 58. His legacy lives on though.
