Baselworld 2013 takes place this year from April 25th to May 2nd, which is later than usual because the Basel Fair Grounds are currently undergoing a huge 430 million CHF renovation and modernization. The project, developed by famous architects Herzog & de Meuron of Basel, consists of an extension of Hall 1 (the main watch hall), with three exhibition floors (the ground floor and two upper floors) replacing Hall 3.

Additionally a connection of the new hall complexes 1 and 3 by a two story superstructure over the Exhibition Square (two upper floors) creating an open ground area with two separate entrance to the new hall complexes, including a new City Lounge.

Baselworld is the world’s largest watch and jewerly show. Each spring, visitors from around the world, including thousands of leading retailers and journalists, come to Basel, Switzerland where hundreds of brands show off their latest products. Typically over 100,000 people attend during the 8-day show.
