Arnold & Son, a brand that was recently purchased La Joux-Perret SA (a well-known movement maker) came out with a lot of very interesting new pieces at Baselworld as a result of the collaboration between their new parent company.

Of the new timepieces from Arnold & Son, none stands out more than the new Time Pyramid, which was inspired by vintage regulators and antique British Skeleton clocks (like the one shown below).

The Time Pyramid is a fully skeletonized timepiece with a sapphire crystal dial and a circular satin-finished dial frame with chamfered and polished edge. At 6 o’clock a smaller display shows the hours and minutes, which are indicated via blued skeletonized hands which point to Roman numeral hour markers and minute dots. The in-house-made caliber A&S1615 movement is completely visible from both sides of the watch, and is laid out in a very unique vertical linear configuration, hence the name “Time Pyramid.”

The case is 44.6 mm in diameter and is made in 18K red gold which has been polished to a mirror finish. Protecting the dial side of the watch is a cambered sapphire crystal. On the back is a flat sapphire crystal.

The movement is hand-wound, has 27 jewels, beats at 3Hz, and has an 80-hour power reserve. The large 37 mm diameter skeletonized movement is made of nickel silver that has been rhodium plated. The bridges are have been manually chamfered and have polished edges, Côtes de Genève, circular satin-finished wheels, and blued screws. Functions include hours, minutes, seconds, and a double power reserve indication.

With the help of La Joux-Perret, Arnold & Son has been able to quickly produce numerous amazing in-house movements such as the one inside this timepiece. The brand that was previously barely on our radar, is now a brand that you cannot overlook. We look forward to what they come out with next.
