Baselworld — the world’ largest watch and jewelry trade show — underwent a major renovation for 2013. The redesigned layout, which was created by renowned architects Herzog & de Meuron, not only looks more modern, it is far easier to navigate.

The layout of the halls was carefully optimized to reduce crowding, while making it easier for the attendees, which include retailers, media and the exhibiting brands, to get around between the hundreds of booths that are located across six huge exhibition halls. Furthermore, even while the attendance numbers set all-time records at 122,000 visitors (up 17% over last year), it seemed far less crowded than previous years.
