In their second collaboration together, Blancpain and Hodinkee have again created a dive watch limited to a few hundred pieces.
The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms MIL-SPEC Hodinkee Limited Edition is based on a historic dive watch from the Blancpain archive. Unlike their first collaboration which was a Bathyscaphe, this timepiece focuses on the more collectible Fifty Fathoms model.
The Fifty Fathoms Mil-Spec Hodinkee Limited Edition is essentially the same watch as the 2017 Tribute to Fifty Fathoms Mil-Spec, but for Hodinkee’s version the date has been removed, and the case is fully brushed, with no polish. The stainless steel case measures the same 40.30 mm x 13.23 mm as before, with same the caliber 1154 movement and 96-hour power reserve, with “HODINKEE” now embossed in the rotor under the Blancpain signature.
A sapphire crystal protects the dial, along with a steel unidirectional dive bezel with a sapphire insert. Water-resistance is 300 meters. The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms MIL-SPEC Hodinkee Limited Edition comes on a 20 mm black Nato-style strap.
Retail is $14,400 and 200 pieces will be available at Hodinkee, with 50 pieces set aside for select Blancpain boutiques. (Ref. 5008 11B30 NABA)
