De Bethune DBS 2005/2015 for Only Watch

De Bethune, an independent watchmaker who has been part of the Only Watch charity auction since its inception in 2005, announces the DBS 2005/2015 as their unique contribution to this year’s sale. The case is white gold, with a crown at 12 o’clock, and cone shaped lugs for the bottom of the case. The movement is fully exposed, showing off the exquisite hand finishing of caliber DB21115, including its in-house manufactured silicon and white gold balance wheel, and silicon escapement. Hours are represented by blued titanium spheres set on the inner ring (with a red sphere at 6 o’clock), and minutes are marked by black graduations on the outer ring. De Bethune DB28 wins Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix

Yesterday, at the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix, De Bethune's DB28 was awarded the top prize, the "Aiguille d'Or" Grand Prix. De Bethune was founded by David Zanetta and Denis Flageollet in 2002. "The pure contemporary aesthetic of De Bethune mechanical timepieces combines cutting-edge technological innovations with the horological know-how of the Manufacture which is inspired and nurtured by several centuries of history." The DB28 features a large dial opening that allows a view into the heart of the movement as it oscillates. A platinum and blued-steel 3D moon phase rotates on its own axis at 6 o'clock. Functions include hours, minutes, moon phases, a power reserve indicator and a performance indicator. Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie - SIHH 2011 Begins Today

I arrived in Geneva yesterday, and had a chance to take some photos at Lake Geneva, including the famous Jet d'eau de Genève. I also had a chance to meet with one high-end brand who exhibits in the Four Seasons Hotel, De Bethune. Today, I will be attending SIHH 2011, which starts in a few hours.
