The Geneva watch show, SIHH 2009, just finished up about two weeks ago. Of the 17 high-end brands, most are part of the Richemont group, including Officine Panerai and Ferrari. Ferrari watches are made by Panerai, but the Ferrari logo is the only branding on the dial. You have to turn the watch over in order to view the Panerai logo. To me this strategy is a good one, it allows Ferrari fans to own a high-quality Panerai watch, with the Ferrari logo displayed. At the same time, I can understand why some people, such as purists, prefer a true Panerai.

While I do understand why purists may not like it, I do recognize that there is still a market for buyers who are not as interested in collecting watches. Kronosclub has a very strong opinion on this topic that is worth a read. I know for a fact that Ferrari is one of the more popular sections on this website, so my question is what do you think about Ferrari watches?
