G-Shock has just unveiled a limited-edition MT-G model inspired by the African Rock Python.

The Limited Edition MTGB1000WLP1 comes with a stainless steel MT-G case (51.7 mm x 14.4 mm), bezel, and bracelet. Uniquely, the top surface is laser etched with a brown, black, and gold python pattern. Created in collaboration with Wildlife Promising (a nonprofit organization dedicated to African wildlife preservation), the design of the watch is meant to mimic the skin of an African Rock Python.

Many of the model’s design features pay tribute to the python as well such as the bright red second hand which represents the snake’s tongue, the indicator hand at 9 o’clock is in the shape of the python’s head, and even the solar dial pattern has been redesigned to mimic snakeskin.

Wildlife Promising branding can be found on the watch band, as well as the case backing, which is etched with the organization’s mantra and logo, “Love The Sea And The Earth.”

The MTGB1000WLP1 Rock Python Limited Edition has Bluetooth and can sync the time via the G-Shock app, with a Multi-Band 6 Atomic signal connecting as a backup. A sapphire crystal protects the dial and the quartz movement is solar powered. Water-resistance is 200 meters. Standard MT-G functions include and LED, Stopwatch (24-Hr), Daily Alarm, Countdown Timer (24-Hr), Full Auto Calendar, World Time (39TZ / 27Cities + UTC).

Adding some flare to the already flashy design are the prominent rose gold plated indices as well as a rose gold ring around the maroon colored indicator dial at 9 o’clock.

The MTGB1000WLP1 retails for $1,300 and will be available for purchase in December.
