Casio has given their popular G-Steel a new look with a green ion-plated stainless steel bezel.

The accessibly priced G-Steel GSTB400 collection, which is the slimmest G-Steel available at just 12.9 mm thick, is now available with one of the trendiest colors of the year: green.

With a case measuring 41 mm (not including the hinges), and 46.5 mm lug-to-lug, this is one of the most wearable premium metal G-Shocks currently produced. Our full review of the original GSTB400 can give you a deeper insight into the collection.

There’s no mistaking that the new green ion-plated bezel combined with a black dial creates an aesthetic that’s reminiscent of Rolex’s “Kermit” Submariner. They are both rugged professionals watches as well, but that’s about where the comparisons stop.

G-Shock has packed in a solar-powered Bluetooth synced quartz movement that’s resistant to shock and 200 meters water-resistant. In addition to the centrally mounted traditional analog hour and minutes hands, there’s are two multi-function digital displays (at 3 and 6 o’clock), that can act as a running seconds display and second-time zone, respectively.

Additional functions such as the stopwatch can be activated via the “MODE” button. The hands and indices are luminescent and there’s also a push-button LED light.

All of these maintenance-free features, an ideal case size (for a broad range of wrists), and the sharp Rolex-esque colorway are available now in markets like Japan and China, with the US expected to receive this model in the near future (it was expected earlier but shipping delays mean this model will now arrive in the US in 2022).

The retail price of the G-Steel GST-B400CD-1A3 “Kermit”  is expected to be $430.
