Another bronze watch manufactured in a way that will not acquire a natural patina. Similar to the Alpina introduced last week, the Primus Nautic Pilot Bronze utilizes a steel base and is coated with a thin layer of bronze instead of using a solid copper-tin alloy.
Despite the inability to show copper rust or green patination, the Hanhart PVD bronze-plating hardens the steel case and therefore reduces the chances of scratching.
Like the bronze watches from Alpina and Tudor, this is a watch designed for those desiring the look of copper-hued bronze but without any chance of future oxidation. It’s worth noting that the Tudor Black Bay Bronze is a full bronze alloy, not plated, but has been formulated so as not to tarnish.
The Primus Nautic Pilot Bronze watch measures 44 mm x 15 mm, which is the exact same size, has the same dial with oversize skeletonized sword-shaped hands, the same movement, everything is literally the same except the case material, as the Hanhart model we covered here.
The watch features a signature red anodized aluminum pusher, flexible lugs, a screw-down crown, caseback secured by screws with sapphire, fixed fluted bezel, 100 meters water-resistance. The movement is automatic 30-minute chronograph made by Sellita, caliber SW510 which runs at 4Hz, has 27 jewels, and a 48-hour power reserve.
Comes on a textile blue strap with leather inlay for comfort, and a
folding clasp made of stainless steel with bronze PVD coating.
The Primus Nautic Pilot Bronze is limited to 300 pieces and can be ordered now at all dealers and on www.hanhart.com for a retail price of approximately $3,325. Delivery starts in October.
