When speaking of military watches, nothing is iconic as the Heuer 1550 sg Chronograph, issued to the German Bundeswehr (as well as other European and Scandinavian militaries) in the 1970s. The 1550 sg – or “Bundeswehr/Bund” as they are more commonly known, is a large piece, measuring in at nearly 43mm diameter – a monster for the time. Featuring a manual winding Valjoux 230 Flyback chronograph movement and a rotating bezel, the Bund was particularly popular with military aviators.

The example we have found here is an early piece featuring “3H” and “T” markings on the dial, as well as a Bundeswehr Serial stamp on the case back, confirming its military issue. It is in excellent shape overall and is available for purchase online through analog/shift. This is a seriously cool bit of Heuer kit for the military watch enthusiast or vintage timepiece collector in general.

The retail price is $3,400.
