Last month at Baselworld, Victorinox introduced a new first-ever automatic version of their popular Alliance timepiece. The Alliance Automatic comes in the same 40 mm fully polished stainless steel case and fixed bezel as previous models.

The dial is black with and facetted, luminous lance hour and minute hands. The hour markers are applied, with numerals at 3, 6 and 9 — and the Victorinox cross at 12. The flange has a printed minute track and luminous dots marking the hours. A military scale is embossed on the inner part of the dial. The date is displayed via an aperture at 6 o’clock.

The dial is protected by a flat sapphire crystal with a triple interior anti-reflective treatment. The caseback is screwed-in with a crystal that offers a view of the 25-jewel ETA 2824 movement. Water-resistance is 100 meters. It comes on either a soft black calfskin leather strap with steel folding clasp or a steel bracelet. Retail price is $750 on strap and $795 on bracelet.
