This week, Yema, introduced a new watch based on the Superman II design from the brand’s archives that originally came out in the 1990s, while the company was owned by Seiko.

The Superman II Maxi Dial most notably has oversized hour markers, which emit a bright green glow, so they are incredibly easy to see in any lighting condition.

Presented in a stainless steel Superman case, measuring 40 mm x 12.15 mm, top with a black 120-click unidirectional dive bezel with a sapphire crystal insert, a screw-down crown with prominent crown guards, a solid screwed caseback, and flat raised sapphire crystal, the watch is water-resistant to 300 meters (which is approximately 990 feet as marked on the dial).

A black sunray-brushed dial is a background for the so-called “Superman” hands which consist of a sword-shaped hour hand, arrowed-tipped minute hand, and chromed seconds hand with its head shaped like a shovel, which is exactly the same used in other 1970’s Superman models.

The interlug width is 20 mm and the watch is available with a stainless steel bracelet (with diver’s extension and secure lock) or black tropical rubber strap. The crown features an embossed vintage “Y” Yema icon and the caseback has an embossed and brushed historic Yema coat of arms.

Inside is an outsourced automatic movement that beats at 4Hz, has 31 jewels, and a 45-hour power reserve.

The Superman II Maxi Dial is now available for a retail price of $749.
