Moritz Grossmann debuted a new limited edition this week, with blued Glashutte striped bridges, front and back.

The Backpage Blue is presented in a 41 mm x 11.35 mm platinum case, with the company’s caliber 107.0 manual wind movement, in full view, on both sides of the case. 

Featuring Grossman’s signature lance-tipped hands, manually crafted in stainless steel, and given a polished finish, the center-mounted hour and minute hands, as well as the small second hand at 6, stand in stark contrast to the bright blue bridges on the dial side. Further accentuating the aesthetic is a variety of gold chatons, including screwed chatons, as well as an engraved balance bridge. In fact, the entire gear train is in full view on the dial side.

The 2.5Hz movement has a total of 230 components, 24 jewels (11 gold chatons – 7 screwed). The free sprung, shock-absorbed Grossmann balance wheel measures 14.2 mm, with 4 inertia and 2 poising screws, integrated with a Nivarox 1 balance spring with No. 80 Breguet terminal curve, Gustav Gerstenberger geometry. Measuring 36.4 mm x 5 mm, each movement has been finished to a high level and has a maximum power reserve of 42-hours.

With the platinum crown, you can set the time, and the pusher in platinum is used to start the movement and to wind the mainspring. Functions include hours, minutes, and subsidiary seconds with stop seconds.

Moritz Grossmann’s Backpage Blue is paired with a hand-stitched alligator leather with prong buckle in platinum and is available in a limited edition of 13 watches. (Ref. MG-003108)
