Baselworld starts in a few days, and so before we take off to cover the world’s largest watch show, we wanted to recap some of our favorite timepieces from the world’s most exclusive luxury watch show — SIHH. There were many beautiful timepieces this year at SIHH, so picking just five was not an easy task. Nonetheless, these are our five “Most Wanted” watches from SIHH 2014. The highlight of the 2014 IWC Aquatimer dive watch collection is a bezel system that uses an external bezel to control an internal dive bezel. Unlike any other internal dive bezel, this ingenious and patented design, allows you to use the dive bezel like a typical dive watch, but with the added benefit of not exposing the bezel to dirt and salt water. The Calibre de Cartier Diver (shown in stainless steel with a rubber strap), is the brand’s first dive watch. It is powered by in-house caliber MC-1904 and is a true ISO 6425 compliant dive watch, while maintaing Cartier’s signature design aesthetic, such as the Roman numeral hour markers and synthetic blue spinel set crown. Lange & Söhne 1815 Tourbillon comes in an elegant 39.5 by 11.1 mm case, and is powered by a movement that combines the brand’s patented stop second and zero-reset mechanisms for the first time, thus allowing the tourbillon to be set precisely, down to the second.
