Ahead of Watches & Wonders, which takes place in this Spring, Panerai has released a preview of the Luminor Marina Carbotech Ref. PAM1661 (pictured above) which will be released at the newly renamed Geneva watch show (formerly SIHH). Most notably, the PAM1661 features a 44 mm Luminor case made from a lightweight forged carbon alloy called Carbotech. The watch is powered by a caliber P.9010 automatic movement which has a 72-hour power reserve. The black sandwich dial has blue luminous filled hands and markers along with a Kevlar composite strap that has matching blue contrast threading. Retail is $12,800.

 

Also in advance of Watches & Wonders 2020, Girard-Perregaux has announced the Laureato Absolute Light. Limited to 88 pieces, the octagonal case of the Laureato collection comes in a new sapphire version measuring 44 mm in diameter. The time only movement is fully skeletonized which allows it to be viewed from the dial or movement side, and from the case flanks, thanks to the clear case. A rubber strap is attached to the case via integrated titanium lugs.  Retail is $84,700.

 

In support of Coral Restoration Foundation, Oris created a 50 piece limited edition of their Aquis GMT Diver’s watch in 18K yellow gold. The Carysfort Reef Limited Edition case measures 43.50 mm and features a blue sunburst dial that’s contrasted by yellow gold indices and hands. A bi-directional rotating bezel with a black and black ceramic insert and 24-hour scale work in conjunction with two hour hands to simultaneously display multiple time zones. An automatic Sellita SW 330-1 powers the watch. The strap is blue leather with a rubber coating and 18K yellow gold pin buckle. Retail is $19,000.

 

This month Bell & Ross previewed one of their upcoming 2020 Baselworld watch releases, the BR V2-92 Military Green. Presented in the company’s “Vintage” stainless steel case which measures 41 mm and has a retro look. The watch has an olive military green colored dial and matching elastic canvas strap with a black anodized aluminum bi-directional bezel and a domed sapphire crystal. Retail is $2,990 on a strap or $3,300 on a steel bracelet.
