Seiko debuted a new version of their Presage this week, which is part of its higher-end Luxe collection of watches.

Introducing the Seiko Presage Sharp Edged, available in four variations starting in September. The new Sharp Edged is shown with a blue dial (SPB167) and is also available with a green (SPB169), white (SPB165), or brown dial (SPB170).

The first three versions come in a stainless steel case with matching steel bracelets, while the latter is gold-plated stainless steel with a calfskin leather strap. The case measures 39.3 mm in diameter and has a see-through screwed caseback. A premium sapphire crystal protects the dial and water-resistance is rated to 100 meters.

A machine-stamped hemp leaf pattern distinguishes the dials from the previous Presage timepieces and features long multi-faceted baton-shaped applied indices. Steel, luminescent dauphine-shaped hour and minute hands indicate the time along with the baton-shaped center seconds hand. The date is displayed at 3 o’clock. PRESAGE AUTOMATIC is printed at 6 o’clock and SEIKO is affixed to the dial at 12. The flange has a concentric circle pattern and is color-matched to the dial with the minute/second track printed on the ring.

Seiko caliber 6R35

Seiko’s upper-tier automatic caliber 6R35 movement powers the hours, minutes, seconds, and date. The bridges have machine beveled edges and are decorated with a straight-grained pattern. The rotor is skeletonized and finished with a striped pattern. Operating at a rate of 3Hz, the movement has 24 jewels and a 70-hour max power reserve.

Retail is $1,000.
