This is the new Seiko Prospex Twilight Blue (SPB097J1), a special edition dive watch based on the same specifications as the SPB077 and SPB079 references introduced last year.

A 1968 watch in Seiko’s archive (ref. 6159) inspired the design of this watch, although it’s not a literal recreation like the modern Ref. SLA02, nor does it carry a price tag north of $5K.

This unique two-tone special edition comes with a turquoise blue sunburst dial and a black and orange two-tone aluminum insert for the steel dive bezel. The black and orange theme repeats on the flange scale. Otherwise, the watch is the same as the aforementioned SPB077 and SPB079 models.

Powering the time and date functions is a Seiko 3Hz automatic caliber 6R15 with a 50-hour power reserve, 4,800 A/m of magnetic resistance, and a stop second feature.

The watch comes with a premium sapphire crystal, and has a screw-in caseback, locking crown, and a water-resistance rating of 200 meters.

In addition to the stainless steel bracelet, a black silicone strap is included. Retail is approximately $1,350.
