Following the launch of the retro Superocean ’57 dive watch earlier this year, Breitling announced two new “Outerknown” versions today.

Introducing the Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Outerknown, available in the same 42 mm x 9.99 mm stainless steel case as the original — with a new bronze-colored sunburst dial and either a standard steel bezel with black ceramic insert and steel applied indices or a limited edition variant with an 18K red gold bezel and black ceramic insert with gold indices.

Accompanying the new bronze-colored (brown) dial is a new brown Outerknown ECONYL® yarn Nato-style strap (made from plastic waste found in the ocean). Made in collaboration with surfing legend Kelly Slater, the Superocean ’57 Outerknown, rated for 100 meters of water-resistance, with its unique concave throwback bezel, is more of a lifestyle watch than a hardcore dive watch. The Superocean Automatic 44 Outerknown that debuted in 2019 is the professional dive watch with 1,000 meters of water-resistance.

Outerknown is Slater’s sustainable clothing company and these two new models represent the third collaboration with Breitling. (Ref. A103703A1Q1W1 – steel, U103701A1Q1W1 – steel/gold) The all-steel version is $4,380 and the steel and gold limited edition is $5,225.
